On the 13 December 2011 I went for a very short study leave in Kuala Lumpur. I took the premium MAS flight from Sibu as Firefly has stopped all operations in Sarawak some 1 month ago. I checked into the Maytower hotel in the afternoon. Maytower hotel is not exactly very accessible. You need your own transport or the taxi or walk on feet. Personally I give this hotel a 3.5 star rating because the service and the facilities are not that of a 4 star. I was given a room meant for two persons. I expected a very big bed or two small beds. When I entered, I saw only one single bed meant for one person. I called up the reception. She told me that two females share one bed. Two males can have two separate beds. Finally she agreed that two person whether females or males should have two single beds; unless it is a partner. I went down and had the room changed. This hotel is old because it is very obvious that rennovation works were done in order to upgrade it. A bit later, my co worker checked in. The buffet food was varied and fattening but the meal times were strict. After two days, I checked out and checked into the UFO capsule hotel; the first of its' kind in Malaysia but this concept of accomodation strectches way back to 1950 in Hong Kong and 1890 in New York and elsewhere. In Hong Kong, the  lookgachon or cage bed / cubicle is something like a chicken coop. One person sleeps in one cage and this sort of accomodation is rented out to the very poor. Capsule hotel offers comfort and is meant for people on holidays. It is something like the train's sleeping berth. The word capsule sounds a lot better and futuristic. Bathroom is shared and it is better you change your cloth when you are in the bathroom. The whole accomodation is air cond. You have to take care of your own valuables even though a cupboard is provided which is not exactly that safe. For food and drinks, it is available outside the hotel. This hotel is opened for business only five months ago.
